Before
After
The second piece of furniture I got was a mirror. I have been looking every where for a big mirror to open up the space in our home. I was down in Mesa a couple of weeks ago and I told my mom how I was looking around for one. We decided to go do some thrift store shopping and found it in our first store! The only problem was that it was fifty dollars...no wonder why no one had bought it yet. We were so upset that goodwill was charging us fifty dollars for a used mirror. Then my mom saw a sign in the store that said half off the entire store on Saturday! So the next morning we got up at eight thirty and headed down to the goodwill just before it opened at nine. There was a LINE outside of the store! My mom dropped me off just as the doors were opening and people were running inside to get what they wanted. For a second I thought I was at Disneyland...racing people to get to a ride. I ran to the back of the store and grabbed my mirror! I swear I could see people giving me the evil eye for taking the mirror. I was so proud of myself! We checked out and I got the mirror for twenty five dollars! Later I looked at the back of the mirror and I found out it was from pier one and had originally cost one hundred and fifty dollars! What a great deal! It was originally a shiny black and I painted it a red and distressed it. Lately I have this obsession with pops of red in my home. Like my big red dresser in my living room! Anyway...I just had to share my fabulous finds with everyone. I am so glad on how they turned out! Hope you like them!( I don't have a before picture for this one...sorry!)
everything looks amazing :) Can't wait to go rummaging again with you!
ReplyDeleteSo cool! I've never seen that process of distressing the paint done, how do you do that?
